Amanfoo, Of late, I've been receiving many requests from non-Amanfoo who want to be a part of this mighty organization. Some are willing to do anything to become Amanfoo. Should we make them Honourary Members? Should we charge a fee, and if so how much? Should there any limitations or benefits? I have set up an Honourary Amanfoo registry at our site. Are any of you opposed to this? let me know what you all think.

Amanfoo, I think we should all be proud of ourselves. It is amasing how many Non- Amanfoo are vying to be part of us. Recently, I spoke to a former Achimotan who admitted that Prempeh College has earned the bragging rights among Ghanaian Institutions. We have come from behind and now seems like we are sitting pretty on top of the educational hierarchy in Ghana. However, I think we can do better. I am disappointed by the lack of participation from most of us. Busy? Yeah! Right, Ain't we all? What about our finance gurus offering financial advise once in a while, a CPA on tax advise towards the end of the year, I expected that, or for Christ sake, can we hear from one of our medical doctors?

Now, to answer your question, It should be foremost on our minds that, this OUR organization is primarily for Amanfoo. However, I have always believed that, we could extend membership to a few deserving people. I believe, people who want to be part of us should put in an application stating why they want to join our organisation. The postmaster will inturn, distribute the request to Amanfoo and we will decide from there whether or not the individuals are worthy of membership. The decision could be made by our regional reps or bd of dirs. Bring your ideas.

We shouldn't charge a fee for honorary membership. Membership should be extended to people who are really interested in the affairs of the school and speaks well of the school.

It is so amazing to feel the spirit that had transcended from the ambassadors of Prempeh College to the rest of the world. Without hesitation or second thought, I am all in for the diversification of "Amanfoo-on-line" and as a result, Amanfoo in general. Membership should be open for all well wishers and interested groups. I suggest that membership dues are charged to individuals for them to have a sense of belonging. Their contributions come in exchange for the innumerable benefits of the organization. Inasmuch as membership should be open to all, registration should should be a bit rigorous in order to eliminate dessidents.

All those who object to the matriculation of non-Amanfoo should remember that the synonym of Prempeh College is University of Sofo Line. Afterall, who knows the end of this Line?

I think you should change the name of the site from "Honourary Amanfoo registry" for the non-Amanfoo to "FRIENDS OF PREMPEH COLLEGE". Unfortunately I do not think they can become members of Amanfoo by any means. Also it is inappropriate to charge them a fee, however, our friends may make any voluntary contribution to Prempeh, if they so choose. That's what I think.

I think it is a great honor for non-Amanfoor to "wanna be Amanfoor". It is a testament to the great work that the founding fathers, the teachers, past and present and the students have all put in. Let us admit all, including the poor, the sick and the hungry. Remember that is how the great US was built.

My recommendation is that we find away for Non-Amanfoo to communicate with us as a group in a public forum online, but at the same time it is critical that we retain a private forum for us to discuss sensitive issues amongst ourselves. I would recommend that no fee be charged, at least not initially. Non-amanfoo should be limited to public areas of our web site only. Cheers!

I am totally against the idea of extending honorary membership to others. This website is exclusively for Prempeh Old Students and it should remain as such. Those who want to participate in airing their views such as that on the beleagured Headmaster are free to do so via the web....You don't have to be a honorary member to air your views.
