National Science & Maths Quiz 2008

Prempeh takes on OWASS next

Friday, July 4, 2008

Prempeh College made a date with their arch-rivals Opoku Ware Senior High in the on-going National Science and Maths Quiz after defeating St Francis Xavier 62-48 today.

Though the Prempeh-Xavier contest started with some few people in the hall, the place became packed during the second round with most of the schools around rooting for Xavier to eliminate Prempeh College. Today's contest was an improvement over Tuesday's as the boys showed no stage fright and were really composed.

It was no surprise when they led St Francis Xavier from Round One to Round Five.

Opoku Ware who escaped to the quarter-final by the skin of the teeth over their ladies, St Louis are bent on a revenge.

In 2004, the quiz team led by Louis beat the Santasi Cowboys at the quarter-final stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz which was held at the Achimota School. Though they beat St Louis, it was a tie at 78 points apiece before a riddle was used to separate both schools.

Its going to be a fierce local derby tomorrow and prempeh.org will bring you a live commentary of the contest in the comfort of your homes, offices and schools.

Prempeh.org recruited 5 of our great past contestants the very moment OWASS defeated St. Louis and brought them to Accra to help with around-the-clock teaching of the contestants. We are sponsoring their stay in Accra until the final.

Enoch Dompreh, Oboy Brilla, and Jeffrey Offeh Sakyi, all members of the 2007 squad; and Asiamah and Kofi Tawiah of the 2005 record-breaking squad are all here to coach our boys. We did a similar thing last year which helped get our team to the semi finals.

All Amanfoo are implored to throng the New N-Block tomorrow morning as Prempeh look for a double over the Santasi folks.
