National Science & Maths Quiz 2008

Prempeh to withdraw from Science Quiz

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Of late, it is clear that one of the yard-sticks used by almost all and sundry to judge the quality of a senior high school has been the National Science & Maths Quiz. It is preposterous to know that almighty Prempeh College doesn't know anything about this. Though the general performance over the past decade has been below Prempeh's standard, this does not stave off the boys from trying to make something up this time round.

It was noticed quite recently that the present batch of quiz students are not concerned at all about the course. They have lost interest because the Achiaw administration hasn't put anything in place to inspire them. The headmaster actually hates the idea of a child pursuing academic goals.

Quite recently, after the re-opening assembly, Prof. Don, The Head of Science Departments invited the brilla boys to have a meeting with them. Ludicrously nobody turned up. When Prempeh.org interviewed some of the boys they expressed their sentiments about the lack of concern by the school towards the whole Science and Maths Quiz Competition.

They made it clear to us that no official preparation at all has been made towards the competition. All these boils down to the question, " Will Prempeh College partake in the impending Science and Maths Quiz?"

The boys had a lot of problems to share. These included the lack of teachers available to teach them. It appears none of the Science teachers besides Prof. Kupo (Physics master) wants to teach the boys because they don't like the headmaster.

Information reaching us shows that plans are being made by the school to cancel her participation in the forthcoming quiz. This for sure will do the College more harm than good.

"Senior Amanfour it's time to arrest the case. It's time to put our feet down. It's time to come to the aid of our alma matter". These are some of the words of the boys.
